I am considering an ACU-style digital camouflage scheme for my 4runner. I swear I saw one on here somewhere. I just went through all 104 pages of the pics thread and couldn't find it. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

If this turned into a "camo truck" pic thread it wouldn't hurt my feelings, or if someone simply pointed me to the right thread. I searched ttora and pirate as well...

my truck is wrapped in realtree camo
but there is a early 80's 2wd toyota in town with digital urban camo (black, grey and what not) and it looks decent but i think he made the blocks to big. and it was done with a spray can.

That is actually why I am asking. I need to figure out what size grid to use. I found a whole bunch of gun pics on Pirate of all places, but very few trucks.

I am sure the patterns exist, look around. Think outside the box. I'd love to see this done.

 

Saw the National Guard recruiter around here has a digital camo Malibu. It was a wrap.

 

do the multi-cam scheme... ACU doesn't work! or atleast do the marine desert digis

 

Yeah, I'm open to all sorts of digicam. Unless I'm mistaken, the main differences between ACU, MARPAT, CANPAT, etc are color selection. I will probably end up with some sort of variation on them. Something with a broader spectrum of color makes sense for my area.

 

The mail & copies here in Colorado can print wraps.

That might be a good way to go, just get a wrap printed with the camo pattern.

 

I thought of that. The benefits to paint are that it is cheap, and that I can keep my templates and paint over trail scars.

I am sure it would work on a full size truck. I guess someone is gonna beat me to it. But I am not gonna use standard colors.

 

It seems like Digital Camo sure has caught on over the last few years, it's definately giving Realtree and Mossy Oak a run for their money.

I'm surprised the military hasn't gone to the digital camo yet on their vehicles. That XJ looks sweet.

 

I think I would want to go with a smaller, tighter pattern than that. The colors look pretty good though.

 

Well there would be multiple stencils, and how would you get the stencils to form fit a vehicle to get a sharp spray edge? Wrap sound like it would be better.

go on ebay there are stencels for digital and other different camos there .I did mine with a $36.00 set of stencels but can`t picture to upload.

 

Calcuta- how big were the cubes?

Teuf- Poster board, and hold it against the side of the sheet metal, just like any stencil on any surface. A wrap could be good- unless you drive on trails surrounded by trees, brush, etc or unless you foresee a round of oak rolling into it, or so forth. If the wrap gets damaged, I can't fix it. If a paint job that I do gets damaged, I can. Plus, rattle can or a cheap sprayer is going to be WAY cheaper than a wrap.
