Different trannys that will bolt behind the 3vz

My question is, is there any other trannys that you can bolt up right behind the 3vz-e motor. Such as the 5vz tranny. cuz i doubt that my stock tranny will be able to keep up with my new motor. also im gettin my pistons n connecting rods forged by Weazy but UPS said they lost the docs. and waiting for sumthin, has this happened to any of you guys?

The R-151F will bolt up behind it, provided you have the 3VZ bell housing. Its a turbo trans, very stout, with a 23 spline output shaft for the GEARDRIVE tcase.

5VZ trannys have a drivers side drop for the diff in the t-case, so that will not work (unless you can find one from a 96-97 T100, which was a 5VZ pass side drop)

yes its a manual.. you will need one out of a 2wd of course. one from the newer 4runners and taco's with the 3.4 will work just make sure its 2wd

doh didn't even think about 2wd lol. If you have 2WD, then obviously the Tcase problem will not be an issue. However, the 5VZ input shaft IS longer than the 3VZ, so i dont know about that one.

Hmmm for some reason I dont think you can build a 3.0 with enough power that the stock tranny cant hold it. People put that tranny behind v8s all the time.

x2 The exact same tranny is behind the 5VZFE (with a different bellhousing) and is holding up to them just fine.

Turbo trannies (R151F) are hard to find and expensive. V6 trannies (R150H) are a dime a dozen...

Lol I've seen them behind 350 and seen one behind a 305 in person. The kid drove it like it was a race car and never broke anything.

The best combo would be a R154 trans out of a MK 3 Supra and a bellhousing out of a 5vz truck. Since the R154 has the same length input shaft and the 96 and up Taco V6 R trans. Since you are 2wd the Supra trans would give you an overall better ratio.

the auto will not work with the 5vzfe. even though they have similar transmission codes, they are not the same. the only transmissions that would work in that swap is the manual from the 3vze or the Original automatic bolted fast to the donor motor or a manual coupled to the 5vzfe.

i dont know about the compatibility of other manuals, but the auto has to be the same one that was bolted to the block. sure other ones will fit, but they all vary a little bit and the ECU will only work with its original auto tranny.

If you putting in a new engine then you can do your 5sp swap
Nothing feels better then going through the gears
