Difference between the r150 and r150f 5speed.

So i was looking around for a gasket set for my leaky transfer case. The transmission i have in my truck now is the R150f in my 88 4x4 pickup, with the 3vz. Along my search i came along this website

http://www.manualtransmissionpart.co...00-TC-seal-kit

Wich supposedly has the gasket set i need for my truck. The only problem i can see here is that the gasket set is for an "r150 transfer case" now if i understand correctly the "F" indacates "four wheel drive" wich means the r150 was used in 2wd 3.0's and 3.4's while the r150f was used in 4wd 3.0's and 3.4's. So what are the differences between the two, will this gasket set work for me, and how is there such thing as a transfer case for a 2wd???

Am i getting wrong information somewhere, or am i just an idiot? hehe

Never have I heard that the F indicates 4WD.
Its an R150F or R151F and either come in 2 or 4WD.

Since that site lists other ACTUAL transfer cases in that list, as well as the R100 (which I've never heard of) I'd call them and ask what that gasket kit actually goes to.

Go to TOYOTA if you need a gasket kit for your VF1A 4WD transfer case. Most likely, they'll hand you a tube of FIPG.

The F does indeed indicate 4WD. The difference between them is the tail housing for the 2WD(R150) or the extension housing for the transfer case on the 4WD(R150F).

But yeah, for your transfer case, just use some RTV and new seals for the input/output shafts. Not too hard to find those.
