Diesel Swapout - 86 22r to Cummins 2.8

So Nissan announced a pair up which involves a 2.8 L Cummins 4 cylinder diesel in their Frontier, set to possibly come out later this year. 200HP and 350 ft. lb. of torque.

Has anyone put one of these in the Toy pickup? Or something similar?

Thats an expensive swap. I doubt anyone will be doing that soon.

But it would be sweet.

That engine came out a few years ago. The Dept of energy and cummins sunk in 2 or 3 mil to develope the motor. No company would pony up any test tucks, then nissan gave 5 trucks to test the motors.
Then the project got scraped and the engine shelved. This is the first I have seen of this engine in 4 years. I am glad some one is going to use it. I hope it is successful and the 3 mil the tax payers spent will not go in vane. This would be a perfect engine to swap, and I hope the offer a crate engine at some point.

I've been dreaming about a B3.3T swap after reading about that guy that put one in a wrangler. I think THAT would be a good swap.

Yea B3.3t is a popular swap. I have been looking at diesel swaps for years. The latest is a BHW out of a 05 passat. Some one needs to make a harness for the toyotas.
