I HAVE FOUND A PATTERN!

Every time I go out and mess with the truck i start it at some point, just to see if i've made any progress. It fires up perfect the first time, every time (then dies after 6-10 sec).
If i crank it right after that it won't fire.
If I let it sit for 60sec it fires up again easy.?
TPS? Fuel pump? O2sensor? I havent found any broken grounds yet.

I think im getting closer cuase these symtpms sound familiar.

thanks to all

When i figured it out I felt like the guy who's looking for his glasses. But the whole time they're on his head, ya konw what i mean?

I learned a ton about my truck and electronic stuff. $30 bucks, go fig.

Thanks to ALL who helped, I really couldn't have done it without you. I'd like tho thank the academy, my agent......haha

Time to do the clutch. Aubrey

buckz6319- I seem to have the same exact problem as you... i have a jumpy timing and get code 14. I replaced the VAFM and the ignitor/coil, cap and rotor, and still have the same jumpy light and code14. So im thinking maybe its a grounding issue, faulty distributor, or .... idk lol. Have you had any luck figuring this out? I also have aftermarket wires, 8.5mm i believe. Hows your timing belt? i did a top end rebuild last summer and had the heads resurfaced and it seems like i couldnt match up the marks perfectly, like it was a half tooth off and no matter what i couldnt get it perfect. Im guessing that because of the material taken off of the heads that it changed something to cause this. just throwin out some ideas cause this code 14 is annoying me lol
