A little description of the problem might help.

Have you TRIED to start it? (If you haven't, after checking all fluids, put a wrench on the crank and gently turn it over a few times.)

Next, vocabulary: Did you turn the key? Did it make ANY noise? (Relay clicked, something buzzed, the starter "clunked", etc.) If the starter turned, I usually say it "cranked." If it sounds like a cylinder fired, I say it "fired." If it "fired" several times and then quit, I'll say it "stumbled then quit." If it runs but sounds like crap, I'll say just that.

Which is it for you?

A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved.
Our senses (what do you hear? Feel? smell?), including common sense, are the best diagnostic tools
You need to tell us what you see, hear, feel, smell because we could be thousands of miles away from you.

Yep, we need details. Also, others may disagree, but I'd change the oil at the bare minimum before even turning it over. The last thing you want to do is pump what is likely watery sludge through all your bearings.

The starters are rock solid in these trucks and I would least suspect it. If it has been sitting for 3 years, I would want to manually turn the motor over. I have seen rings stick to the cylinder walls and snap a ring, eventually the broken ring will come out and gouge the wall. The starter is strong enough to break the piston free from the wall.
