dash light/tail light circuit

The circuit that runs the dash and tail lights is not operationa on my 89 pickup, and the fuse is fine. Before I head in with the multi-meter does anybody know of any particular trouble spots? I don't have a garage so the less time I spend fumbling with wires in the cold the better.

Thanks

Start simple by checking BOTH of your tail light bulbs. If they are both burned out, it should also take out the dash lights as an indication of trouble. Replace the tail lights (if burnt out), and you'll probably get your dash lights back.

I agree with breknraj but check the wires for continuity pls no one seems to ever consider the wires can corrode or break.
