Damn exhaust leak at the header flange.
Wouldn't ya know it, there must be a tiny crack or pin hole between the flange and the tube UNDER everything (right at the head.)
I can just see black stuff if I crawl under the truck and look up under the head.
No way to get a welder up in there and I'll be damned if I'm pulling that freekin header again.
Though with the header out it would take longer to plug the welder in than it would to make the repair. An hour to get the header out, 5 min tops for the repair, two hours to put it back. ARRRRRR
I was thinking some of that high temp gooie stuff with a little patch of stainless held on by a stainless hose clamp.
The leak isn't enough to do any damage and I can barely hear it, still...
Any suggestions on 'goo'? Anyone try anything like this? Success? Or do I just need to suck it up and pull the header?

I've tried the high temp rtv with copper in it. they claim 1200 degrees, but Im pretty sure ive smelled it burning before. Some of it is still on my manifold though, and seems to be staying in place.
I would think that there is probably too much pressure to use a metal plate unless its just a tiny pinhole.

I used some of that high temp RV with limited success on a cracked tailpipe flange once. It was worth the 5 minutes it took me to put on, but wouldn't praise it up. Didn't last very long...
Just curious, what type of headers?
