Custom Snorkel idea

i am thinking of doing something like 4Hummer did, just instead of running the tubes to the roof line i will put the snorkel head just above the fender so it is in line with the side mirror. What i would like to know is what size pipe do i need to hook up to the air box? cause i am going to run rubber flex pipe from the air box to inside the fender and run a solid PVC pipe to the back of the fender and then bringing the pipe through the top of the fender and sticking a snorkel head on just above the fender. either that or maybe putting the intake i the door frame so it's hidden and out of the way and if i coverd it properly very little crap woul get in there.

I don't mean to be rude but first you're thinking of putting and exo cage (or full body protection) on your 4runner and now a snorkel, is all of this necessary for the type of wheeling you do?

if you want it to look like the hummer with the round can on top.... just go to a tractor store and get a pre filter.... run the pipes to your normal airbox with the normal filter//.... will totally make it last longer

well now i'm thinking of putting it behind the cowl or stick it so you can see the intake when you open the door. some where with alot of air flow but higher than the stock height.

and tons of others...
a lot of good ideas on pirate too, some ghettofab 5$ getups too. all depends on your creativity and needs.
i was contemplating istalling a small blower fan for low speed use. i'm so far from that mod though so, i'll still see others' cool ideas.
post what you make!!

well i'm really swinging towards just bringing it into theupper part of the fender by the door for now. until i get other stuff done on my Surf, cheap fast and easy mod to minorly improved performance and cool air.
