Cranking T-bars

okay, i have searched, but i cant find the help i need...

i need to crank my torsion bars about a half inch because im rubbing on my lower valence with the new tires...

now, every thread related to tbars talks about them, but i work better with visuals...

so, anyone have kind of a picture book/walkthru of cranking the tbars? hoping to get this done before the alignment tomorrow...

yeah, cut or bend it.. i donno if you want lift just to have lift, then crank them a bit. i dont have pics but its very easy if you just use logic. follow the bars back to where they mount above the frame rail and just turn those bolts- right=higher left=lower, just make sure you cound the turns!

I think you will need 22 mm socket and 22 mm box end wrench, 7/8's works well too. the socket goes on the bolt end and the box end goes on the nut on top. Lube the hell out of that bolt several times before you mess with it. When i was trying to take my T bars off for some front end work, I ended up twisting both heads off. New bolts are only $7 at the stealership. and the nuts are about the same, but youwill likely have to order them and be out of service for a few days. If youdo decide to do the T bar crank not only should you count the rotations, but you should measure from the top of the hub to the bottom of the wheel well on both sides before and after. the second time the measurement should be a half inch longer and both sides should match both times.
Or have the alignment guy do it. And remember every crank on the T bar takes away from ride quality. this would be a better option http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ntSpacer.shtml, TRD parts4u has them too.

well, the stealership cranked it 1/2 inch for free before they aligned it...
still rubs... so i guess imma have to cut the valence... i like the look of it, i really do, so i wont get rid of it...

so, when i cut it, for those of you guys who have done it, what would be the best way to do it??

Ive found you have the best control with a jigsaw cause its variable speed and such a small blade.
But what is a Whizz wheel?
