Crankcase Vent. questions

I have a question about my 3.0l. The vaccum hose coming from the valve cover(beside the oil cap) then hooking in to the intake hose. Has anyone put a filter on this line so the thottle body doesn't suck oil into the intake tube? I pulled the hose off the throttle body and it has a thick oil in the tube all the way down to the elbow. The elbow has some really thick sludge.

Anyone has any tips on how to fix/prevent this?

Yep, its commonly called a "catch can". So try searching that, here's one writeup: http://www.gassavers.org/showthread.php?t=290

Yeah I know BTW if you are getting a lot of oil in your can it is a sign of engine blow-by and you might start saving for a rebuild. My engine is low miles and I have never had to empty that catch can yet. It was a long time before it even had a trace of oil.

I just get engough to give the TB an oily coat. I'm going to clean it REALY good and just wanted to see if anyone had found a way to reduce or do away with any oil getting into the TB.
