Couple specific exhaust questions..
i found a flowmaster in the back of an s10 at a local junkyard for 10 bucks last week (single in offset out). and my mom is going to have a local muffler shop install it on my toyota for an early christmas present.
how do the regular, or classic flowmasters sound on our 3.0's?
where should i have it welded in?
i was thinking of having it put in place of the cat (id assume my cat is pretty old and clogged), and just putting straight piping in place of my old glasspack. or should i keep the cat and just have the muffler welded in place of the glasspack?
couple cat questions...
if i removed my cat and threw a straight piece of pipe in place of it right now would my truck throw a code?
if you say yes to that do you think it would still throw a code if i put the muffler in place of the cat?
thanks for any advice guys!

As far as throwing codes go, it will only throw a code if an O2 sensor is after the cat. If there is one there (which I don't think there is), I'm pretty sure a muffler will not "fix" the code, because the sensor reads the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, which is changed by the cat, but not the muffler. (How's that for a run-on sentence? )

I personally wouldnt go straight pipe. The 3.0 doesnt flow enough to justify it. I would throw on a high flow cat, that way it will still keep your exhaust hot to flow better. Plus it will clean it up a little

i got the muffler installed today, but im not overly impressed with the sound..
the only reason i can see for this is because of an old cat... suppose im going to throwa high flow one in sometime soon.
thanks!
