does the coolant temp sensor have o ring thing like prevent it from leaking or can you put it on just like that. and the whole mount thing where all the sensors go have a gasket?

Sorry to bring this thread back, but I'm having the same coolant leak problem.
Here are some pictures I was able to take. so cramped!
Not sure if you can see, but there's some coolant collecting in that nook behind that switch (i think its a switch), above and to the driver side of the U-hose.
any thoughts?

that nook is a sut and nut that holds the sensor pack in, 1 of the 2 on it.
i dont see any drip trail from any sensors in the pic. my concern is hose or clamp seapage when warming up expanding

Dont forget the coolant sensor bank behind the plennum up against the fire wall.
I would check this also. There are 4 sensors in there and you could have a leak there.
Also that sensor bank has a gasket and is bolted to the intake mani.
Coolant could be running down that right to the exh crossover pipe

I leaking coolant after rebuilding the top end. its definatly coming from the coolant sensor block gasket. I plan on removing the upper intake to replace the gasket. Heres my question, can i use the blue rtv instead of a paper gasket? Or is there something else i could try since i dont have another
