Console Help!!!

I desperately want to install bucket seats in my '93 extra-cab......problem is I also want a console.....I have heard about guys using 4Runner consoles.
Will a 4Runner console fit my truck with little to no modifications required?
Please only answer if you know for sure.......no guesses please.....thanks guys!

The 4runner consoles are a little different than the pickup consoles because they had the extra controls for the rear seats. Why not look into getting a pickup console? Not sure which models had the bucket seat option, but I know the SR5 models like mine did.

Nice SR5 consoles are hard to come by and pricey......nice 4Runner consoles are not uncommon in my area and can be had for $20-$25.

COuld just buy an aftermarket console from jc whitney or summit. I like them much more b/c they got cupholders and padded armrests.

The 4runner consoles are rather narrow compared to the aftermarket ones. Do some measuring to make sure it will fit properly between the seats.

I put 4 runner seats and a console in mine it worked great. The seats took a bit to install because the bolt pattern is different but the console was a perfect bolt in. I even managed to remove the change tray from the console for my second case shifter. I'll post a pic tomorrow if your interested?

Its funny how you really don't notice how dirty your Truck is until you photograph it

This double pocket console came out of what looked like an 88 runner out in the wrecking yard. It must not be popular because I have a friend thats been looking for one just like it for 6 mos now with no luck. I guess I just got lucky?

Don't bag on my sheep skin seat covers I cant seem to find any thing else that holds up as well.

As for install it was pretty much a straight bolt in. There are 4 threaded holes under the bench seat the line up perfectly with the 4 holes in the bottom of the console. The front section slips right into the stock shifter console area and looks like it was made to go there.

that console looks to much like the 90-95 era to be from a 88

thats exactly what ive been looking for, and havent had much luck either.

They are all over ebay for $17-$35:

The 1st gen 4runner ones are much harder to find without the rear heater controls. I typically see those go for $100+

just a clarification...

that console is out of a 89-95 pickup. (might only be sr5, but dont quote me.) you can tell if their out of a 4runner because there will only be the top storage area... the rear blower motor takes up the space of the bottom storage compartment.

88 interior's are much more "square."

I would have to agree....that console looks like an SR5 '89-'95 Pickup console. The earlier 4Runner consoles are more square and the later 4Runner consoles are more rounded and look like that one but, without the lower storage unit.
Its plenty hard finding an '89-95 5spd console in grey with no scratches to match my near excellent interior.
If anybody has one they want to part ways with PM me with photos and price please, thanks guys.

PS i plan on installing Scat buckets from Summit Racing if I ever find a console.
