cold start good, wont start after driving

Hello all,

I have a 1991 pickup v6 3vze. Just had my engine rebuilt and everything seems to be running smoothly. I searched here but could not find any answers.

With the engine cold, my truck starts up no problem. I can turn it off and on repetitively without any issues. After i have driven my truck and the engine gets into normal running temps, if I turn my truck off, it will not turn back on. Thinking about just getting a new starter but don't want to get a new one just to get one. I want to solve the issue. Is this a heat shielding issue?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's a big difference between 'won't start' and 'won't crank' What is your issue???

if the starter you have is able to crank the engine, even if it won't start, putting a different starter in will not solve your problem (unless the present starter only cranks the engine very slowly).

diagnose the problem before condemning perfectly good parts.

COMPLETELY DESCRIBE YOUR TRUCK and put it on your signature. Will save everybody time having to ask you and waiting for reply.
A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved.
MODEL-YEAR-ENGINE-TRANSMISSION Yes. transmission means a lot when troubleshooting.

As the guys said above^^^
Toyota components are bullet-proof. The problems are often caused by poor assembly/wiring.

IF your issue is not cranking as opposed to no "VROOM", Start with this inexpensive test... https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52367443

Then, find your starter relay
AND get a multi-meter. Next only to our senses (common included), it is the most important troubleshooting tool.
