1988 V6 3VZE 4runner
I bought the 4runner not running,ended up being cracked heads,so I rebuilt motor ,got it all back in and once got her running I decided it was time for a drive.
Truck had a hesitation /power loss that felt like a distributer with moisture inside.I have checked codes and all I have is a "CEL 42",Everything is plugged back in but the only thing that does not work is the speedo,Its broken at the t-case end.
would this cause the stumble/power loss?I have always had 22r/22re toys and have never run into this problem,did a pretty decent search and never came up with anything cut and dry as a reason for this particular problem.

 

I have unhooked my speedo, and get code 42. I have an 89 4runner 3vze, but I have no power loss. Just check engine light. I think your problem lies elsewhere.

 

I think so as we'll,I have the stumble at idle and throughout rpm range,no fuel odor at exhaust,I wish I could test the injectors under the plenum,I hear the ones on the drivers side clicking.
