clutch release bearing clips.

Greetings fellow outdoor enthusiast.
Iam farily new to this site and from what i have seen, in general, you guys know your stuff. anyways i own a 86 4runner 22RE non turbo. with a R151F manual transmisson with 4x4(or course). I recently burned up my clutch at the south canadian river here in Norman Oklahoma. so ive been working on replacing it when i noticed that one of the retaing clips for the clutch realease bearing was totally destoryed and cant seem to find anyone that sells those darn things. I know that this has been merly mention already a few times on a few threads but was never very clear or conclusive. I have even checked with the toyota dealer and even he said he wasnt sure if they would be able to get them. so any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Well if you get the clutch kit it will/should come with a new throwout bearing and retraining springs. If you are doing the clutch I'd change both bearings in there as well...Just me though. I'd also get a new pressure plate, for the cost of a plate and the cost to have it turned, go new.

Lumpy I don't remember my clutch kit (the same one you just put in the advanced auto one) having the retaining clip. Come to think of it, I don't even remember my stock one being in there lol. With it being press fit is it even needed? I hope not lmao.

The tricky thing is with him is that he has a turbo trans on a non turbo motor. I can see it now, he orders the clutch kit from a parts store only to find out he got the wrong one and he tells the counter he's got the r151f and they give him some deer eyes lol.

My clutch kit came with the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing w/ retaining clip, and pilot (or is it the carrier bearing?). When you install the clutch fork make sure the spring is on the pivot correctly, mine was not when I opened it up. Someone was in there before me.

to my knowledge the r151F was only put behind the 86-87 turbo motors and I also believe only used in the turbo pickups not the turbo 4runners.

R150F was placed behind the 88-95 3.0's only I believe.

I think the only option for a 1986 22re is the W56 for the 5 sp manual. thats if you know for a fact it was never changed out.
