Might it be possible that the shocks you installed are to long and the "clunk" is them bottoming out?

A simple check would be to put a ziptie on the exposed shaft and take it for a spin around the block. If the ziptie is gone after you hear the "clunk", it would be a strong sign that your shock is running out of room.

Cluck noise? Did you check for the common Chicken problem? I have heard they can cause a loud clucking if not taken care of right away.

92: I had this same problem, it turned out to be my steering idler arm was shot. Lifting the truck made it worse.

It may be just laying an egg. They do that from time to time. And they hate being lifted when doing so. It's also possible when you repaired the CV the c-clip/retainer on the axle stub didn't stick. That's happened to me before.

well i didnt repair anything yet, just trying to get some help diagnosing the problem...is there a kit that lowers the front diff, because it looks like the axles are stretching down after the lift????
