*clank* on startup and when too warm
Hey guys,
So this 22re I've got is springing all manner of leaks and now it sounds like a diesel when I first start it up or when it's really warm (not just up to temp, but if for some reason it gets too warm, like not having enough coolant, but not overheating). It even hesitates to start sometimes. When I first crank it up, it just makes a disturbing rpm-related clank or ping sound, however, if I give it a little gas, it smooths out pretty quick.
Other than this, there is no problem driving it. It's still plenty peppy and responsive.
What could be going on?

Well, I have only had this truck a few weeks, and theoretically it has a rebuilt motor. It sure does not run like it has 200k miles on it, and the fella showed me all the papers. I just neglected to get them from him after jumping through all manner of bargaining hoops to get it from $4500 to $2500
That is definitely something to look into. Maybe I should invest in some of those metal guides.
