Picts: Check out my new 87 Toy

Her she is, my new Toy and yes, she is a Tubro. I got her for $2300 from the Salvation Army here in Denver. She has 107K on the dial. The tires, tint, shocks, and running boards all ready on the truck. However, I put the TRD package stickers on, roof rack with Rocky Mounts, and the three foot Firestick just last month.

It's really clean on the inside and out. I just has a small amout rust on the driver side rear wheel well and on the front passenger fender. Other then that she is one of the cleanest 1987 4Runners I have ever seen.

On top of that, I just got a job at the local Toyota Dearlership, so I won't be making any money. All of it will go to mods and possibly a lift.

Stock: Two Days After I got her:

Thanks for looking and tell me what you all think!

Someone did donate it. They changed the donation law out here in Colorado. It used to be that you could put your own price on it for a tax cut, well, they changed it to the market value.

I'm thinking it was a little old ladys truck, the hand writing on the back of the title looked like an little old ladys hard writing. Clean but very messy at the same time.

On the running with the Turbo, it run fine, it's still a bit of a dog, but not as much. It can throw you back in the seat. It has some minor bugs with it. The gas gauge I believe dosent work and there is a exhuast leak right after the Turbo. I'm so glad I got the job at the stealership, this will be so much more cheeper to fix now!

Nice looking runner, just bought a 86 turbo truck here in WA for 2000, not as clean as yours though, got some rust in the bed and needs a paint job, though paint might just wait, going to get scratched anyway while playing I am sure Turbo may not add alot of power, but for me I wanted the tranny/t-case that came with the manual trucks and also can always hop up the 22ret a bit.

One of the cool things about it was it came with the avertisment for it.

However, it didn't come with the owners maunal and the past owner lost the ash tray.

Guess I got ya beat on that then, hehe. Bought mine from the women who ordered it, the glovebox was packed with all the past work done on the truck from oil changes to headlight adjustments, even the order sheet from when she ordered it from the dealership with what options and what not on it, was kind of funny to go through all that stuff and see some of the little stuff they took it in for.

i'd prefer to have a turbo pickup, as the 4runner wasn't available with a manual tranny(and this was way back in 1987 when you could still get 99% of everything with a stick)

Sorry to revive an old thread, but the toyota turbos are pretty great. You have an awesome find there. We've got an 87 PU turbo, and that thing MOVES OUT. It will climb hills here in colorado in 4th gear that our 4 runner with a 3.4L needs third. Never had a 22r, but i drive a 22re, and the turbo is WAYYYY better.

That parking lot is DeVry University off of 120th and Pecos.

The car lot has some good deals, however, you just have to find them. They had a 70 something Bronco there for a while. It looked to be in good shape, just needed new seats. Finding stuff like this is not hard to find, you just got to know where to look.

In terms of looking around, I paid a visit to the Klode salvage aution last Monday, off of south Santa Fe, right next to Chatfield Res. I'm on the look out for a Taco so that I can do the 3.4 swap with all the pieces in front of me. Real variable prices, by what I saw, but I think that bargain can be had, there.
