Check engine/strange codes??

On my 86 Toyota truck 4x4 EFI 2.4 5 speed the check engine light stays on and throws the codes #11 and #45.Can't find any listing for a code 45 and the code 11 will blink 11 straight times, not 1 and 1.This use to be a turbo truck if that matters. It starts and runs well.

You mean you have codes 4, 5, and 11. Which means...you've got some fairly serious issues to deal with. It can't be running that well.

The only difference, code wise, between the 86 22R-E and 86 22R-TE is code 14(or lack there of).

Wrong forum to post this BTW. Not a build-up...

So it was a turbo truck before and the turbo system was removed?

Was the ECU changed out? I would imagine it was since your not getting a code 14, however, this is assuming your reading the code correctly and maybe seeing as though you thought you have a code 45..........

XXXtreme 22R,a mechanic was reading the codes,of course maybe he don't know what he's doing, but he works on only Toys all the time.Did have a boken wire on that thermal thingy by the T-stat over a year ago and the check engine light came on at that time, then went out when the wire was fixed. The fellow said the code eleven probably is the ECU,but it wouldn't run that good if the ECU was bad. Will pull the EFI fuse later and see if the light goes out.Don't know if the ECU was changed when the engine was switched.Have had it 1 and one half years and the only check engine light before was on that thermo switch..still runs the same.Only mod done was to bypass the CSI with a toggle switch over a year ago if that means anything...thanks for the replies fellows.

If you were having a problem with the wire on the thermo switch before, why not double check it to make sure its not the same problem. Clear the codes and run it till they come back and check again.

There's a 10 amp fuse where the EFI fuse goes I guess(bottom left)..isn't that supposed to be 15 amp..don't have the fuse box cover..but that's been in there over a year, since I've had the truck. How long do you keep the fuse out to clear the codes?

The ECU will have some current built up in it after you pull the power..maybe 45 minutes to an hour?

Yes finally got off my lazy ass and checked under the hood, looking for anything out of place with my untrained eye.Lo and behold,a broken wire on the thermo sensor(the one next to the cold start injector time switch). Will have it changed when possible, thanks for the replies.
