Cheap red paint?

Is there such a thing? I've got an 88' with the factory paint I'm about to remove all the rust from it and I'm going to need some paint if it was black or any other cheap color I'd just buy that from a real automotive paint place. but i have red with just about doubles the price. I really don't care a whole lot about how good it will look when it's done, it does not need to be very shinny or anything, this truck is for 4x4ing. Has anyone ever used another paint that is close to the 3D7 factory Toyota "red" or "super Red?" My Ideas were tractor paint or boat paint buy i couldn't really find anything close enough, most are always an orange red.

Thanks!!!

Try foam brushing or spraying Rustoleum oil based enamel. Their red is really nice and shiny, painted my dirtbike with it.

I rolled Rustoleum Professional 'Safety Red' on my truck last summer. Its very bright and has held up well over the winter so far. I dont have a very good pic of it at the moment, but you can get the idea of color from the pics in my composite bumper thread in the general section.

Spray paint if you want.

Or buy rustoleum plain jane red and thin it out with acetone and rollit on. If you search its been covered extensively.

I'm feeling the Rustoleum enamel safety red, I'll probably spray it on.

I bought one bucket to roll on and still have a few inches left in the bottom. The safety red is actually a bit brighter than the paint in my avatar (thats the old paint).

A nice feature of the safety red is that it comes in a spray can that exactly matches the roll on stuff.

The bumper is a custom one I made, but you can see progress on my new fully composite bumper over in the general section!

I painted my 911 with Kirker Viper yellow, and it turned out really nice.
You will need a gun, decent compressor and honestly, the trick to good paint is the prep work! Here is the company that sells Kirker paint, and they are awesome! They ship fast, are affordable, and give good tech support over the phone, even for paint I bought 5 years ago!

Here is a picture of my sons 4runner I just painted with PPG Omni, a "budget" single stage matched to my original paint (3D7 code). With primer it was $300. I think I paid $165 for the Kirker "paint a car" kit 5 years ago for the 911. I think it is $210 now. I had leftover Kirker silver and clear coat activator I used for the two tone.

Here is a picture of the new 4Runner paint:

Was originally goiing to paint the 911 its original color (silver), but wife vetoed that since I (technically) promised her to paint it yellow if (she let me) buy it - that's why I had silver laying around.
