Changes form 88' to 89'

I know in 1989 toyota trucks had a design change. But I think the design change came halfway through the year, so I have been told. Is there a way to tell by the VIN # if i have the newer style or not. I am trying to order a molded vinyl floor covering, and it is a different part number form 88' to 89'. I want to be sure I get the right one.

By the way, any suggestions on where to get one? I have only found one place so far.

Does your truck look like this:

or this

the bottom is 89, the top is 88.
there was a change in body style between the years.
other than that, the frames pretty much changed the same.

the frame changed slightly, but not the frame itself, the way the front bumper mounts (cross piece) I believe changed and the rear leaves I believe are a little wider.

if your having trouble with ordering parts just go from one extreme to the next, like search 86 or search 94 so that way there is no confusion

Sorry to hijack but, does anyone know if the 2 grill types(1st and 2nd gen) are interchangeable? The look to be similar in size and shape, but what about the mounting points?

Yes, they are interchangeable. Direct bolt-in swap.

Lot's of folks are doing that these days.

Personally, I think it looks stupid on the older body styles.

But do watcha like...
