Stolen catalytic converter

Unfortunately after all the time I have spent reading through the tech threads on this forum my first post has to be a complaint about getting my cat cut out. After filing a report with the cops I'm just trying to figure out what the best option is: Forget about the cat and weld in a straight pipe or get it replaced? I really was not planning to spend any more money on my truck right now and a replacing my cat was not even on my list.

I have a buddy who was saving me a rust free frame for my 89. Meth heads cleaned out his barn full of Toyota parts including my frame. The ATV path the druggies made to his barn led the police right to them, but all of the parts were long gone.

If you live in NE (or pretty much anywhere but CommieFornia), just get it straight piped. No need for a Cat where you live, IIRC.

Straight pipe/cat

I put in a pipe for the time being but it sounds terrible of course i didn't weld it in only made it a slip fit and clamped it so that isn't helping the sound, but I read about other people having issues with lack of back pressure with out their cat so i've got a new one on order already. I'm just replacing the whole exhaust since my muffler was rusting through on the bottom anyway. It's funny that since my 4runner started sounding like a broken tractor, it means that lifted fords and chevys feel the need to floor it and pass me.
