Is it even legal to run with out a cat

 

it depends on what state you live in but in california its not

 

depends on what state your in. but id bout gaurantee that itd be illegal. just gut it so it looks like you still have one. but still itll be loud

 

It doesn't "depend on what state you are in" it is absolutely 100% ILLEGAL to run without a cat if you vehicle came equipped with one. In all 50 states. Some people get away with it, but if you ever get pulled over and a cop checks, its a BIG fine.

 

i wouldnt say a big fine, my buddy cut his exhaus toff after the header and got pulled over, they gave him a ticket and he got exhaust put back on and they dropped it. all he had to pay was court costs

whats IIRC? he didtn get a fine, plus he was 16 and it was his first ticket. that may have helped but i dunno.

 

Fines for running without a cat can run up to $10k, so I would say thats a pretty significant fine.

Just because your buddy didn't get a fine doesn't mean there isn't a law, nor that the police won't enfore said law.
