Picked up this 93 4x4 with the 22re last summer. It didn't run when we got it but the body is straight and 100% rust free which is rare around these salty parts. Since then, I got a 22re out of an 89 2wd. I replaced the timing chain before putting it in. After we got it all back together, we replaced fuel pump, several fuel lines, new spark plugs, and the fuel filter. Now it'll fire but runs rough, and will barely stay running. All plugs make spark, and tried different sets of plug wires along with a different coil. Removed plugs one by one, but can't seem to isolate any dead cylinders. Also moved distributor gear each way, but no help.

Right now I'm thinking its either got to do with the fuel system or possibly ecu or changes from 89 to 93 parts/ sensors. Were there any changes from an 89 to a 93 that I might have missed? I swapped the throttle body and tps along with the cold start injector because of different plugs. Anyone know if the injectors are compatible?
Any help or input would be appreciated

have u checked over all the vacuum lines and the vsv? i know i had hooked up a vacuum line in the wrong spot and my truck ran like crap. just an idea.

 

I have checked but it seems like its running too rough to be just a vacuum leak

I think I'll look into the fuel pressure regulator tomorrow

 

There is a plug that goes there on this and my 94 that I cannot find a location for on this one

(Edit) Thats the EGR gas temp.

 

After reading up on the fpr, it seems possible that its letting too much fuel back to the tank, and not allowing enough fuel pressure to build up for the motor to run right

 

All the cylinders fire when they alone have a plug wire so does that mean each individual cylinder's injector works?

 

egr temp sensor i believe is on california emissions only. Is the egr stuck open? how is the comression? hows coolant and oil levels? Have you ohmed out the coolant sensor to ecu ? tps?

 

Ended up being afm, timing got screwed up at some point, and just needed to run for a bit to clear itself out, its coming together realllly nice
