Can you ID this connector? 22re

This connector comes out of the harness next to injector wires at intake manifold. It has a green/white wire, and brown/black wire and is 9 inches long from leaving harness. I can't find anywhere to plug it in. Any ideas? I have an 89 22re.

Yup, I don't see any plug/wire combo like that on mine. Does it come right out of the main harness, right inside the intake, by fuel rail? Are you Cali emissions?

I have the black/red and blue wire plug in the pic above also, but that was for sure always unhooked. The connecter pic I posted comes out of harness in intake, by fuel rail along with injector wires. It could also reach down to passenger side of block six inches, but I don't see anything to hook to. It is an 89 4x4 5spd with fedral emissions. I pulled this harnes out of another 89 that seemed to be an exact match, and swapped it 5 months ago. At the time I don't remember it being loose. It was finighing a head/timing job yesterday when I rehooked harness up that I noticed the connector.

Just to be clear, the connector in question is the first pic at top. Where does it hook up? I cant find anything on egr. Is it under PAIR valve?

Sure it's Black with red stripe? That's a switched 12v which feeds several sensors, but only with the key on, and the clutch-start switches. I can't find a "blue" connected to anything other than the fuel pump. And before you go there, my diagrams may not be complete.

So don't quote me.

The plug with the green wire with white trace and brown / black trace wire IS for the EGR temp sensor, little doubt about it. If you tried, you could probably get it to stick up an inch or so above #4 fuel injector... and if you had the EGR temp sensor, it has an 8" or so long pigtail that would reach just fine.

You may have the wires in the harness, but not the sensors on the vehicle. So, I wouldn't worry much. If you're not getting a trouble code "71", the ECU doesn't care about it.

Just one of those thing Toyota thought was cheaper to include even if it didn't need it instead of removing it.

Thanks for the help. After putting it back together, I'm tempted to remove all the useless stuff and maybe even EGR/PAIR valve.

Yea, we need more info if we want to figure out what Combatcarls plug is. It looks like black w/ red stripe and green solid. But somehow I doubt that is all there is to it.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's connector A3, A/C idle up VSV. That wire is not green, it's actually blue (damn white balance!), you can compare it to the blue plug in the background. So it's black w/ red and blue. He's obviously missing that valve from the picture so that's why the plug is unused.

Yeah, I think you and Abe are right, Jerry. I no have AC, and errbody that does, has one extra VSV on top of their valve cover. And I felt up my wiring last night, I've got a fat, lumpy spot where that EGR plug is folded back and wrapped up.
