Caling all St. Pete manual trans experts
Is there any one in the area than can take a look at my tranny for me. It's a W56 series and it is in pieces in the back of my truck. Some a** clown was trying to rip me off so I picked up my truck from his shop and brought it back home before he could inflict further damage. I would like to rebuild it, but don't really have the knowledge or tools, but I would like to learn. I'm going to pick up a used one in the meantime and if someone could help me install it that would be great, too. PM me here on the board.
TIA,
Elaine
BTW, if you're anywhere even close to central FL I would be willing to bring the tranny to your location. I'll be more than happy to compensate with food and drink of choice to anyone that can give me a hand.

Needless to say I'm no where near Florida. But you might start with a FSM, factory service manual.
Their on ebay at times, or maybe a local dealer would sell you a used one for cheap.

I've been watching Ebay lately for one, but no luck. I don't mind using a manual, but sometimes I need to ask questions or watch somebody do something in order to understand it fully. No matter how much I talk the manual just sits there speechless.

I've bought used manuals from this dealer, Alton Toyota/Dodge.
www.altontoyota.com
Send them an e-mail and ask if they have one.
edit: They are kinda slow to respond so be patient, but they are good to deal with.
