A/C Problems still...
Ok... Ive charged my a/c and it works while Im driving. When I stop and am just idling the compressor cuts off. If I slowly give it gas the compressor will kick on right past idle.

Well...I guess thats right? So the compressor can only come on when I am driving? I'm not sure about that because to fill the system you have the truck idle and turn the a/c on full blast. When there is enough pressure it should kick on and suck the freon in....right? To fill mine I jumped the compressor so it would pull it in. Anybody?

Go to this link: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t113388.html
just to the right of the "E" in EFI on the intake manifold it shows the bolt. That thread also addressess other idle issues with the 22re.

With all due respect to other posters, Nah!
Your compressor should not kick off at idle! One more time: Your compressor should not kick off at idle! With that being said, Your AC idle up needs to be adjusted! My guess! Educated! With the AC on there's a big screw, plastic, let me think, pass. side? Turn it up! Yes, turn it up!
Take care of your prob.s!
Let me know!

Look behind the glovebox door. Near the top is the air conditioner amplifier. It has a little knob for adjusting compressor cut-off. If the cut-off rpm is too high, turn the adjustment knob clockwise to adjust, and turn it counterclockwise if the cut-off rpm is too low. The magnectic clutch cut-off is 600-700 rpms.

Another thought, it's possible the A/C idle up VSV is not working or the vacuum lines aren't correctly attached. The A/C compressor will kick off at RPM's below the A/C amplifier threshold; set from the factory at roughly 600 RPMs. With the compressor engaged, the VSV should pass a vacuum to the bypass valve (thing with the big white screw). I believe the engine should idle around 850 with A/C on.

Ok where is the a/c idle up vsv? Is it on the valve cover? Does it have two vacuum lines going to the plastic screw adjuster that is next to the F in EFI? If so mine is not connected at all. I have found several sets of wires dangling under the intake manifold. One set is W-G and W-R, one is blue and W-Black, and one is a single green. I looked in my haynes manual and found that the A/C idle up vsv has a W-G and W-R going to it so...? Any ideas?

Always a help.
