The SDORI site says to shim the bumpstops if they are low profile... so it looks like your not suppose to use low profile ones... can someone tell me if this is true?

better yet maybe ill PM frank and ask him about it.

There are two sets of bumpstops. The lower, or compression bumpstops you can do whatever you want. It's the upper, or extension bumpstops you should leave stock. Only shim those if you have the low pros and want to add spacers but threw out your stock ones.

I use low pro compression stops and have for years. They are probably the most common mod on our trucks ever.

o now thats just mean, i was short on money, my *stock* radio got stolen, and i knew nothing about car audio at the time, then my friend was like o yeah jessen is a pretty good brand. so much for that, but it has aux input and output for a sub so its not really worth replacing till it finally dies.

Ok, so if i buy a set of these Bump Stops either from Summit or Downey, all i do is remove the old ones and install the new ones? and if so, which SHOULD i replace so i don't bottom out anymore hitting the potholes here(which are unavoidable)? top AND bottom or just bottom? and if i do replace them with low profile stops, then is there anything i am going to have to worry about wearing away faster? or breaking?

You can replace both if you want. If you ever add ball joint spacers slip so washers under the upper ones.

We've been installing these since 1986 when this suspension first made its debut so you are fine.

I use stock 1980 rear "tall" bumpstops up front on my truck, and stock rear 94 bumpstops on the rear coupled with 4.5" tall Energy suspension ones in the back. This is to slow down and stop the rear axle before the 37" MTR's destroy my bedsides. I don't have any issues with stuffing the tires up front. But I used the *COUGH* Northwest Offroad *COUGH* low pro bumpstops like yours in the past (Back in my IFS days)
