Do you know if it's the correct bolt? I don't have a pic of mine, but if you could get a pic of yours...I'm just brainstorming here, could of course be somethin else.

well they were the two bolts that came with the truck. The previous owner might have done something but i doubt it. The bolts are probably around an inch long with those two large washers.

you might have too much grease in it making the lockout stick part way,
you should clean out that old grease anyway.

Well that grease isn't that old, but if you guys feel that there is too much then i will greatly take some out!

If you notice, the hub gear sticks out a little past the cv end. I don't know if thats the problem either

They ar eused in both manual hubs and ADD sytems. Earlier ones use da snap ring and thrust washer. Why do they keep coming out? Aftermarket hubs??

yep, they are warns. I keep hearing they suck and i should get some asians. But i got the warns for cheap and i needed to do something because when i first got my truck running the add system didn't work, so i switched with manual hubs.

Aye, I believe that bolt keeps the cv splines centered in the hub gear. Are you following a service manual? OR did you look at the link I posted with the service manual?

Also, what is all that orange junk on there?

The bolt is stock. Why it's there?....I'm not sure, some have them & some don't. I think it might be there as a safety precaution; might only be on the A.D.D. equipped models....maybe only later models; I just really am not sure but I am sure it's a stock bolt/washer & is in there for some reason from the factory.

Shrugs...mine has them.

I just replaced a cv and repacked the bearings and my truck has the bolt/washer. It has always had manaul hubs. Never had issues with them backing out of getting in the way of things.

Hey thank you!

I wonder if it was just having that problem because of the warns?

Anyways thanks again! I actually have three service manuals but they don't have anything about front or rear suspension components or the hubs.

I guess ill just keep the screws until i get some Aisans, then i will put them back on.
