Could be many things imo... Clogged fuel injector(s), worn plugs, wires, distributor...

It could be a plugged fuel filter.

Tried the fuel filter? Might allow enough fuel through to idle, but under load, ...no GO GO, lol.

Could be TPS related, another easy test.

I would check for proper spark, too.... I've had a coil go weak, and where it was fine was idle, but when I needed serious blue-spark output, LOTS OF IT, under load, .....bog, sputtering, etc.

Also had an AFM giving me trouble. It would idle ok, but when it needed Mass Air Flow, hehe.... the plate would freeze up and not allow in the air the throttle was asking for.

It could be a combination of things, including fuel, vacuum and spark issues. Possibly checking the timing would be a good idea, as well. I would just go through a troubleshooting P.O.E.(process of elim.), and rule out one thing at a time. Get your multi-meter, vacuum gauge and might as well check the compression while you're at it... all free to test if you have the tools. You'll get it, Rooster, best wishes!

If I bought an old truck for $265, the 1st thing I'd do is give it a tune up...

But if you're a "cart before the horse" guy...

"Hey! Guess what's wrong with my truck!" is always a fun game though...
