oh it's more than GOOD to know, it's a MUST to know!
if installed upside down, you'll have oiling and compression problems, and you'll have to tear the block back down to replace the rings the right way in order to fix it!

and the oil retaining rings don't really make a differance, just make sure you stagger the upper and lower ring, as in the gap in each ring is 180 degree away from the other
Well ladies and gents, I took the wanderful paid day off to play around with the motor some more (after I slept in until noon almost, lol)
Got my LCE delivery, and OH MAN, it was like Christmas opening that box... I can't wait for the MC order to show up now

take a look at this beauty...

I'm going to take the hoist back over to my buddy's house today, and while I'm there I'm going to help him diagnos the running issue on his 22re in his 90 PU we dropped in not too long ago
he's one of them neon-green guys

I'm getting another hoist this weekend from someone else, and the motor's getting dropped in Saturday with the help of my father
on a side note, as anyone ever ran E3's in their 22re? I'm considering running a set in the motor, but most of everything I hear is that NGK's are the only way to go, which I have found to be true for the most part, but I've never heard any feedback from someone running E3's; if they're any good or absolutely horrible in these motors...

Sorry I can't help you with that one. I went to the autozone when I did my plugs and wires and they didn't have em. So instead of searching around, I got the ngk's. You probably won't notice a difference since your engine will have had so much done to it by the time you fire it up.
