bj spacers loosening?

bj spacers loosening?

i am looking into a set of ball joint spacers and have seen many guys running them and im wondering if anyone has had any problems with them, including any loosening of the bolts/screws??

I have never heard of anyone having problems. They use a nut with another nylock nut that tightens on top of that. Here is a pic...

cant say i have heard of anyone who had problems with them coming loose. if you half arsed putting them on and didnt tighten them down enough then yea they would prolly come loose

or if you OVER-TIGHTEN then, then yeah the bolt's going to be overstressed and snap, lol

but no I've never heard of any problems; I'm running them combined with aftermarket UCA's, and no problems

I intalled a used set and mistakenly only installed the nylock nuts. They loosened after a few months and when I re-torqued to 30 lbf-ft their little threads stripped out like they were made a cheese. I guess that's what a 12.9 bolt does to an equivalent metric grade 4 material. I replaced mine with a pair of hardened nuts (grade 10 I think) with a lock washer between them. It has held up fine.

Sin91 looked at me funny when I asked her about spacing the BJ's.
She looked at me even more strangely when I said the stud wasn't long enough.
