BJ Spacers HELP!!!!!! AHHH!!!!
I just got my new BJ Spacers from strap22 today and decided to try and put them on... well all went to hell!!! :cusing: i followed all the directions to the T. I went to unbolt the BJ hardware they broke... shock bolt broke... put a piece of wood between the bump stop and the upper arm to hold it. I cant get the ball joint to fall out of the way to cut and put the spacer in.. HOW DO I GET IT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY????!?!?!?!

when i put mine in i had to rotate the ball joint 180 degrees. this allowed the ball joint to sit at a greater angle and with a little help it slid in. as for the shocks, i didnt plan on saveing mine so i got the biggest pair of locking plyers i could find and grabbed the actual shock with it and wreched on the nut with the other hand.

i have the OME's as well I love the set up. I got the clearance by proping a jack stand under the upper A arm and slowly lowering the car. but dont lower the jack all the way keep it touching to support a little of the weight and as a precaution. this should give you a little room to work with. Also I pulled my CV axle out enough to drop the knuckle. NOTE: support the knuckle with something don't let it hang or fall. you will probable break or tear something. that should do the trick. the when putting it back in rotate it until it slides in and make sure it's not binding.

No, sorry I dont have any pics. it was on the front lip of the A arm (side closest to front bumper) i Had to place it in between a break line it was a tough squeeze but it worked.

so i jack up the front.. put the jack stand between the upper and lower arms.. lossen the ball joint bolts and lower the truck back down??? this should lift the upper one out of the way sorry im just alittle confused at how this is suppose to work!

Do this.
1) Jack up one side by placing the jack under the lower A-Arm and jacking it way up, till the jack maxes out.
2) Then put a big socket or something as bog as you can fit between the upper bump stop and control arm and lower it down.
3) Then with the truck on the ground, pound out the BJ Studs and unbolt the shock from either the top or bottom.
4) Jack the truck back up with the jack under the center crossmember on the side that you are working on. As it goes up it should all kind of fall apart. if it doesn't just beat out the upper BJ.

I had to wedge my bottle jack upside down between the upper a-arm and lower bumstop bracket and jack up the upper a-arm to clear the ball joint. That was the only way I could get the upper arm high enough. Don't forget to put something between the upper arm and upper bumpstop after you get it high enough, just in case the jack slips out and watch the brake lines.
