Bizzare Idle Problem with a twist

Bizzare Idle Problem with a twist
Hey guys, I've heard of a bizzare idling problem plaging vehicles like mine (91 4runner) running a 22RE and sometimes the V6 as well. What I've heard hapens is that the idle fluctuates up and down and sometimes dies between like 400 - 650. That was originally happening to my 4 runner about 4 months ago and only did it when the car was warmed up and with my foot on the brake. It went away after I took out my thermostat due to an overheating episode..
Well it got cold and I was tired of not having any heat in my car so I replaced the thermostat. Well the bizzare idle problem is back but it's mutated. It still only does it when the truck is warmed up. But now it just won't Idle. I have to keep my foot partially on the gas which is pretty tough with a 5speed.
The thing that makes this a little different is that I can hear a definate click from under the dash and maybe on the engine side of the firewall. It sounds like it could be a click from a switch being triggered off and on. If I take my foot off of the gas I hear the click and that's when the engine just stops getting fuel and dies. As soon as I put my foot on the gas I hear the click again and the engine gets fuel again. any ideas?
-Thanks
Tom

Air flow meter turns the fuel pump on and off:

Make sure coolant is topped off, no air pockets, that can cause the ECU temp sender to see hot/cold as the air pocket hits the temp sender.
And turn the idle speed down if too high:
