My local yard just landed a 98 4x4 Tacoma with the 2.4. I have a 95 V6 4Runner and am thinking about the upgraded brake master cylinder and booster. Also, do you guys think I can swap in the under-bed fuel tank once I move my spare tire? Anything else to "steal" while I'm there?

This has got to be one of my better interior junkyard mods....cheap ($7 + double sided tape cost), fast (45 Min), easy (screw driver, pliers, dremel tool), and the long term comfort benefit far outweighs those items.

This works for those who like to rest their right side elbow/arm while driving and have noticed that our center consoles are too short to be of any benefit in that manner.

98' Camry Wagon center console arm rest pad (or something similar).

Just going to place the original pad inside the new pad so you can always revert back if you wanted without any permanent damage.

Cut out the plastic so it fits inside and remove the locking tab.

Double sided 3M tape

Place inside

Looks a little unclean/funky from underneath, but nobody sees that anyhow

Pure comfort!!! your arm is pretty much at shifter level now.

Stopped by the junkyard today because they are having a 50% sale for Memorial weekend. Here's what I found:

7mge AFM x3 (1 with complete air box) 1 for my AFM mod, and the other 2 to sell
7mge Ignition Coil
carpet with padding for the cargo area
driver side interior door panel to replace mismatched panel
passenger side air vent to replace broken vent

Still on the hunt for an uncracked dash pad. I think every 2nd Gen 4Runner in California has a cracked dash.

Just learned that all 2nd Gen Toyota Land Cruiser Prado models came standard equipped with a "Field Monitor showing altimeter, thermometer and pressure" everywhere except South Africa. New search on with international parts yards/scrappers and it will be my best junkyard mod if/when I find it.
Here's a pic:

Also, FJ's have a unit too:

Costs $534 here: http://www.pureautoparts.com/dash-mo...ser-p-148.html

Here's an older Toyota dash mount for $200 on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-4RUNNER-TACOMA-PICKUP-LAND-CRUISER-ALTIMETER-INCLINOMETER-SR5-JEEP-OEM-/171050708023?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d36aac37&vxp=mtr
Pricing out an aftermarket dash assembly that has an outside air temp, inclinometer, and compass alone, that would fit the assembly is easily a $150 proposition...

Heck ya for 175 that's a steal any yota yard out here wants premium prices for all that, it's kinda cool having a yota specific yard but not cool because they pay more for junked trucks so the standard yards only have a couple gutted trucks because all the toyotas go to the yota yards anyway good find

Anybody ever use car-part.com?? I've had real good luck finding weird stuff for my yota and all my cars. Its like a junkyard search engine. Just found a sliding rear window for $30 bucks just up the road a bit.

Car-parts.com is a great resource, but you always need to follow up with a phone call because parts are often listed improperly.... FJ80 hi-pinion without elocker...listed and priced as if it had elocker.

So, I had a epically successful day at the junkyard today hunting for 1st gen truck parts. I found two grilles, one 2wd and one 4wd, light housings, shift knobs(2), dash trim complete and uncut wood grain with stock radio and pocket, complete center console, power steering pump, reservoir, lines, and gear box, tinted complete rear dividing window with latch, bucket seat brackets, sr5 vents with intact vanes(3) ball vents(3 sets), set of perfect tan door panels with handles and speaker covers, a stock tire bar, and a grab handle for my drivers side. All for $200. there is also a 98 4runner coming in this week so maybe an electric locking rear end? found a rust free short bed too. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I head to my shop.
