I will get you pics, but it will be Tuesday or Wednesday. Wife has the runner with her and she's on vacation.

It's basically a rear facing mini bench seat that fastens to the cargo rings under the rear carpet. It's about 2/3 of the width of the cargo area. Comes complete with lap belts. Bummer my runner is grey interior and this is tan, but when my wife saw it she said I had to have it!

I need to see pics of that! I was considering trying to fit sideways-facing seats like out of the back of a land rover, but if there is a part toyota made for it... sign me up for 5!

Hmm I'm interested in some extra seats too.

My buddies dad a loong time ago had some folding canvas seats that faced sideways in the back of his ford's cab, I always liked them and haven't seen any since. I wonder if there's a way to make some of those or if they still sell them?

Kinda like this:

Only made of canvas and steel, and had seatbelts of course.
They folded flat up against the side of the cab.

the last pic is of my 5.00$ 81 lights and my 15.00$ nissan fender extensions
all this stuff had to be slightly modified to fit but it was fun and cheap and fairly easy
all this stuff you could get for like maybe less than 60$ counting the hardware youll need
i also just modified my smittybuilt bumper making it low profile ill send you pics if your unhappy with your ginormous rap around bumper

Not junkyard mods, but free(ish) mods none the less:

-throttle cable was stretched beyond the scope of adjustment, so I bent the bracket back around a half inch to gain me some more adjustment. Worked like a charm, I used to depress the gas pedal nearly halfway before much would happen, now that problem is gone.

-front windshield washer fluid pump had stopped working. Since I never use the rear one I just swapped front to rear washer pumps. Front washer fluid now works! I couldn't justify spending $50 for a replacement from the parts store on a $1700 truck.

-Blower fan selector switch stopped working so I replaced it with a $5.00 3-way rocker switch from the local electronics store for the time being. I now have off/low/high heat which works well enough for me on a cheap truck. Instead of molesting the stock wiring plug I simply made some leads that plugged into the stock plug, soldered them to the new switch I bought and called it good. I might eventually replace the switch with the factory toyota unit, but only when I'm feeling rich (and have solved all the other little problems).

Any grille cutting?
Did you use the 79-81 H/L buckets?
Any other snags involved?

I've been wanting to do this to my 4Runner forever, I have a few 79-81 h/L assemblies laying around, just never got around to doing it..more important mods came first haha.

Freaking sweet!!! I love all those things. The tire carrier looks pretty straight forward although I'd like to know what all you did to mount it, the round headlights look pretty neat and I really dig the placement of the turn signals.

Well done!!

Nice pickup Steve, That tire carrier is a good idea, would it hold a 16" rim with 265/75/16 tires on it though?

Also, where did you get your smoked corner lights, taillights, and turn signals?

One final thing, love where you put the turn signals, gonna have to remeber that!

Sorry for the bad cell phone picture.

Its got oil pressure, inclinometer, and voltmeter.
Since I already have the pressure and battery gauges, I'm probably gonna replace them with something else, not sure what yet.

^^^ you can also find those pods with a compass as well. Euro models of the Pajero had compass and interior/exterior temp. They also have an altimeter which is harder to find im in the process of fitting mine in the dash now.
