Best $800 spent, ever.
Well, I picked this toy up today.
'87 with 160k on her. No rust anywhere. Best $800 I've ever spent! Hey, now Mobcore911 and I can actually bring a Toyota to the next trip up Crystal Mountain, (I was co-pilot of ol' yeller that day.)
Quick question, what is the ECT button down by my shift lever? It has two settings, normal and power. It also has an indicator light on the dash.

'electronically controlled transmission'. it holds the shift a bit longer in the pwr setting. several members have tested fuel economy between the two settings, not much of a difference has been found. it all depends on how aggressive you drive as to your individual fuel mileage. i ran mine in pwr for 6 mths and compared fuel usage etc to normal setting, i didnt notice any change. i average 400 kms per tank per week in either setting. just my .02.

That does look like $800 well spent. The ECT (Electronically Controlled Transmission) selector button controls how soon the transmission shifts. When engaged, it holds each gear a little longer (kind of like the "Sport" button Honda cars once had) Take off normally and notice how your truck shifts, then turn it on and notice the difference. Search the forum and you can probably find more detailed information.

I find a little more driveability around town with the ECT on. I'm running 31 x 10.50s with 4.56 gears, so the engine doesn't seem to dog around as much by hitting 2nd gear sooner ( when the ECT is off ). The others are right, fuel mileage doesn't really seem to be affected much either way.

Alot of the damage is to the flimsy spoiler under there, which we promptly removed The grill is missing a little piece and I need to get a new blinker/fog light but other than that the damage isnt too bad. The guy says someone hit him, but we all say crazy things when we're trying to sell our cars

The ECT button holds shift points slightly higher. It also holds the shift during deccelleration longer. Check the transmission guide for the '93 Truck FSM to see the rough speed range VS throttle opening VS normal/ECT.
It has the tables for the stock tire sizes & differential ratios.

I got mine for $500 / loved it ever since / looks like a tree jumped in the road, by the looks of the hood I would agree the leaf springs need a tweak but all in all it looks like you got a good one.

Well cr@p...We're twins!
Mine looks alot better now but still playing with it...For that you'll probby need a right radiator support, fender, hanger for bumper corner, corner, maybe a new bumper...running light and might need to splice the socket for the light, might be able to straighten out the hood enough...for $800....NICE DEAL!
