Beck/Arnley vs. Raybestos rotors?
I need new front rotors and on Rockauto.com they have Beck rotors for 23.97 and Raybestos for 24.97. anyone had bad experiences with either of these?

I use to work at an auto parts store and if I recall beck arnley just re-distributes parts. They don't actually manufacture them. Not to say their parts are cheap but you really don't know what brand you're getting. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the case with b/a. Raybestos knows brakes, can't go wrong with them. When I buy Raybestos from local stores they usually have good warranty also which is good to have with rotors.

overall, if you change to whatever rotor and pads, as long as you change the rotors out the every time you change pads instead of resurfacing you'll be fine. generally, you'll be looking at changing out the front pads 2-3 times for every one time you change out the rear shoes and the front rotors about twice for every one change of the rear drums.
if it's not outside of your budget, you should change the front rotors every time you change the pads, and maybe change the calipers out every 6-8 pad changes if needed.
this will, however, be affected by how you use the truck, so don't quote me.

Whoa, total overkill! If you rotors are in spec (thickness) and not warped then there is zero reason to change them. When is the last time someone had a rotor fail? A lot of rotors come with a lifetime warranty for a reason. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have had good experiences with B/A and Raybestos parts. My bias leans towards Raybestos though since its seems like tolerances on B/A parts are a little looser. The parts I've accumulated to replace my rear brakes are a mix of B/A and Raybestos.
Rockauto is awesome, even with the shipping to Canada 90% of the time the parts are still cheaper by a huge amount.
