ball joint question

I was wondering if anyone knew if the edges of this ball joint are normal. I can't find images of a new one without the boot to compare. Thanks. 1994 pickup 2wd 22re

I would say that is normal, because the ball joint has to have the most travel in that direction.

It's the area in red being different from the area in blue that has me wondering.

Compare it to ball-joint on opposite side?

Yeah its the same. I did that before posting. I guess I'll grease it back up and put it back together and take it to an alignment shop. I have one tire leaning and I was hoping it was something simple. Thanks guys.
