Auto tranny problems 95 4runner V6

I have been having a problem with my tranny lately. It seems the TC wants to lock up very prematurely. If i turn the OD off it will lock up somewhere in the 35mph zone with a tach reading of only 2000rpms. I can give it lots of gas and it still stays locked up, but if i push it to the floor it will downshift. However i dont really notice this problem when i have the OD turned on. This is a tranny i got from a junkyard with just over 100k on it. I changed the filter and did a flush before i ever ran it. Im using dexron III fluid. The TC is brand new. Can anyone help or give me an idea what it might be? I am pretty sure it is probably something eletronic and not the tranny itself, but im not 100% sure. Oh and it does have a Jet performance programmed computer in it, but this is a problem i have noticed in the last few days well after i put the computer in (BTW Jet sucks!)

yes, jet does suck.........but i'd have to agree that the problem is electronic. you should find somewhere that you can have your codes read to see if there's an error in the ect unit.

This is normal. When you have O/D off, your torque converter will lock immediately when your tranny shifts into 3rd. The only time you should be driving with O/D off, is when you are towing or going up a long/steep highway incline.
