Attarco Head???? Anyone heard of them??

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this company and the quality of their product? I have ordered a COMPLETE head from them new cast, new springs, seats, valves, and cam etc... for $250 i know that this is really a steal for this head but i dont want to get a piece of junk with ty parts in it...so has anyone heard of their products or has anyone installed one on thier ride?

For $117 less than Engnbldr, not even counting the $88 EB cam on top of that, I would be very hesitant.

In my earlier post about it, I have bought one and used it on a truck I fixed and flipped to a buddy of mine. Its all brand new with a 6mo warranty. How much more do you want? It ran great with the head. I wouldnt buy it if it was a reman head from attarco but brand new is a whole different story

My father drove down to Sac and picked up a brand new 2.7 for his 98 Taco with a 6mo warranty from Attarco. Slid right in and It's been 20,000 miles with no problem yet. I would say that their service is good and no complaints about the product. I would go ahead and go with their services~!

Give us an update when you can.

Since I have a 1988 22R with 155K miles that I have owned since 1989 I figure it is a matter of time before the timing chain needs to be replaced.

When that time comes I though I would have the head rebuilt. But here in Silicon Valley I doubt if I could have a shop rebuild the head for anything close to $250.

$250 is just too good to be true. So you will be the guinea pig.

new head installed on sat. got everything put back together and running valves adjusted to spec and everything is just fine with no leaks!!!!! The only thing is, is that my battery is now dead but oh well ill get one of those tomm. dont want to just keep jumping it off....the job went really smooth and was really no trouble, just make sure that you dont take the engine apart until your ready to put in the new head because you WILL have problems remembering where everything goes i left the heater hose that wraps around the backside of the head and hooks underneith the intake...didnt realize it till i had the intake on and looked down and said to myself.....hmmm wonder what the hell that thing goes to and then realized what it was and the function was..... i was def not going to take the intake back off so i took the piece of pipe to work with me the next day and cut the pipe in two half's....then hooked a piece of heater hose to each end so that i could snake it in and around the head....that was the only snag that i had on the job other than that it went really well....thanks to all that gave advice and tips it was very helpful!!!

Here's your review mang! I've had an Attarco head on my 93' 22re for over 6 months now, and I've had no problems! I've been driving this bastard in the Arizona heat since I got it running(110*+!!) and it has never came off of the cold line on the temp gauge. I go wheelin atleast twice a month and I spend most of the time idling down trails. The best thing you can do to insure the longevity of the 22re is to run 20/50w oil in it. Not only does it protect the timing chain and guides against premature failure, it also provides un-surpassed protection against wear on all the moving parts in the engine. My motor runs like a striped-assed ape and that's all due to the brand new head, and of course my mechanical ability, lol! Anyway, I'd refer anyone to Attarco, they produce a superior, yet affordable solution to all of your engine problems. Why pay more for the "Engine Builder" name when you can save $$ and get the same quality?!

I also have an attarco head waiting to go in. However I'm not using the mystery gasket they sent. I'm using an engbldr gasket along with his timing set.
