Anyone installed a center support bearing?

I recently changed out the center support bearing on my truck. It was pretty simple, but on reinstalling the driveshaft I found that I had to push the flange around the bearing toward the back of the truck to get it aligned with the holes in the bracket on the frame. The rubber flexes enough to accomodate this (about 0.5 inches).

So basically the bearing now pushes towards the front half of the driveshaft.

Anyone know if this is OK or should I redrill the mounting holes to remove this "pretension"?

And yes - I have the bearing flange cutouts facing to the back of the truck which according to the fsm is correct.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I'd have said you have it backwards, but sounds like you have that covered. Mine lined up just fine, no problems. Is the part OEM or aftermarket?
