Anybody recognize this spring?

I had this in my box of clutch parts when I pulled out the original transmission. It may be not be related and somehow ended up in that box accidentally.

i am now putting the 5 speed back in and I have no idea where it goes. I think that its too large the be a pedal return. I have the spring on the brake pedal.

Vitals on the truck is 92 excab, was 3.0 (now 3.4), manual, 4x4.

Anyone happen to recognize it?

Hey now!!! That's off my recliner! How'd you....what the.....man, no wonder this thang ain't been workin' right.

If anything, I'd say it looks like it came off of a drum brake assembly, but it's way too long for that. No pedal returns, either. Carbureted throttle return spring, maybe?

not a carb return spring. at least not for a yota. looks way too thin to be a brake drum spring.

That`s the clutch peddle return spring, it needs to be installed so that the clutch peddle will come back up all the way after you let off the peddle.

It doesn`t matter, 22R or 22RE, your truck has this spring also, if its a manual.

I only said "carb" because it looks like the one that was on the '70 Chevy truck I used to have. IOW, I knew your Toyota didn't have a carb, but hey.......I've gotten parts mixed up in boxes before and later going,"where'd the hell this come from". That's all.

I didn't think the clutch return spring was that long, although the thought did occur to me. I just wasn't willing to walk out to my vehicle and look. It's too hot....hehehe.

I don't see a spring anywhere on my clutch pedal, nor on the trans housing, just the brake pedal which is only like maybe 6 inches long at best.

If you look up under the dash were the pin goes through the clutch master cylinder and through the clutch peddle you will see a groove on one side of the pin, one end of the spring goes around this groove, then if you look at the lower frame of the dash (its hard to see) you will see a small slot cut in the dash frame, the other end of the spring hooks in there. you really need to get your head under the dash to see were the spring goes.

Ya i have the coil type spring on my clutch pedal but for this to be a pedal return, i think that you would have to hook it to your belt loop.

SO, other than the coil spring, there is no other pulling spring on the clutch pedal. Can somebody verify please? Maybe a pic?

That's only on later models. His would have a chain......and be an interference style. Clutch goes, all your lights go. It's kinda sad. Lamp oil is so expensive these days.
