anybody ever had there mud flaps ripped off?
i was on a job going down a steep little ditch and one of the front mud flaps just got ripped off somehow. just wondering if this was common problem or not. 94 pickup.

I have had the same problem, but in reverse. The mud flap is pushed into the tire, and the tire rips it off.
Did you back up the hill any, and then go forward?

yea i was backing up a hill in reverse when i lost it.
it did lead me to notice the massive pile of crap lodged behind the inner fender towards the cab. cleaned out the other fenderwell as well to help fend off the rust.

happens a lot. i know a lot of people take them off themselves but if your state requires that you have flaps, some just take them off on the trail and some even fashion up some quick disconnect type system

I took mine off about 3 weeks after i bought my truck (about a 1 1/2 year ago)... the "4WD" was barely visible!! I live in texas, and I dont have any trouble with the cops!? I do know that my BFG allterrains hold small stones, but I have never had someone try and tell me something about them throwing stones at their windsheild!! The front ones arent really that strong, because unlike the back ones, the bolts actually go through the rubber part of the flap!!
