Another speedo problem.

Hey everyone,

I tried searching but no one seems to be having a problem quite like mine. Every morning my speedo doesn't work (just stays at 0) for about the first 10 minutes or so, then jumps up to correct speed. Works fine for the rest of the day. The odometer works the entire time, not problems with it. I thought it may be the speed sensor, pulled it, it looked fine. The dealer told me that if the odometer is working, it must be the speedo itself. Sounds right to me. Any other ideas? My speedo is all electrical, and I have no tach or trip. Would a cluster w/ a tach and trip work in my truck? Thanks for your help. I have a 94 pickup with manual tranny, 4X4, 22RE.

Electrical contact only making contact when metal swells when warm. look for loose connections or slightly broken solder joints

sounds to me like the cluster's going out; or at least the speedometer in it is going

it would be a good time for an SR5 cluster upgrade

Hey,

thanks for all the info. Bleeder, I checked out your SR5 upgrade! That is awesome. I haven't decided if I'll go for, or just put the same cluster in again. Money is always a factor. I'll let you know how things turned out.
