ADD to Manual hub conversion help!!

i was going to swap out the tube, but the add third thats in the truck has 456 gear, and the non add third i got on the side has 411 gearing. i didnt want to mess with swapping out gearing. i just took out the actuator, moved the fork to the lock position and put a hose clamp next to it so it wont move, and then i installed the manual hubs. i tested everything today and it was working great! Much thanks to you guys!!!

What does the tube have to do with gearing?!
The axle tube is separate from the diff itself, and can be swapped regardless of gearing. I would take that ADD stuff out and put a non-add axle in there. Its much harder to do with the splined end twisted off in the diff.

Or you can just run a vacuum line directly from the intake to the engage fitting on the actuator.

Hey guys, sorry in advance for the thread jack. This may sound like a dumb question, but is there a way to tell if my 91 4Runner is ADD or not? or are all 91's ADD? Once again, sorry for the thread jack, and thanks for your help.

yep, on the front of your front diff, theres some vacuum crap on it..mans you got ADD
if you do not have lock out hubs on the front (where you have to get out and lock the hubs for the 4wd to work) then you have ADD, theres also a tag on the front diff(atleast there is on mine) that actually says A.D.D.

nope, take the flange off of your hub, bolt on the manual hub, disable the ADD(with techniques mentioned in this thread and others..like applying vacuum straight from the intake or similar) then just turn the hubs, yank the stick back on the T-case and have some fun
might i suggest 4wd donuts in an empty parking lot after it has frozen over with 3" of ice
walmart lots are the best so far because of their size lmfao
