ac not working

ac not working

my AC will not work when i push the AC button the light comes on but nothing happens the compressor never kicks on i do have a AC compressor i have all the hardware
what should i do?what is wrong?how can i fix it?

It's low on gas more than likely.

I just went thru this same thing on an exploder.The light for the AC came on when you pushed the button, but nothing. The blower motor was bad, replaced the motor, and the AC worked, defroster, everything worked. Check your blower motor

Jumper the low pressure switch momentarily to see if the compressor kicks in. If it does you need to add refrigerant. Then you'll you'll probably have to find a leak.

Not sure if you have the same dual pressure switch that's on my '94 or just a plain old low pressure switch. Either way, you're going to have to go behind the glovebox to find out. Check out this site, it will show you how to test everything properly.
