A340h Tranny Problems

Alright, I purchaced a 88 v6 4runner auto. It was submerged under water then pulled out. I have a few questions about the tranny. First the tranny, transfer and diffs were full of water. Flushed them all. The tranny fluid looked like chocklate and vanilla milkshake. I added fluid then put it into drive and it went into gear (on jackstands) for a minuite then quit. Checked the fluid again and I was very low ( asumming the TC sucked all the tranny fluid up) I refilled it again to the proper level. Now it will not go in gear. I think both the ECM and Ect were under water. I replace the ECM with the proper one. I have not found an ECT for that year model yet. Will the ECT not let it go in gear? I pulled the tranny lined off the radiator, it pumped a little out then stopped. Does the tranny have to be at a certain temp before it starts pumping? By the way the motor seems to run fine, no major problems so far.
A little history. When the guy pulled it out of the creek it cranked and he drove it home and supposedly for another two weeks, he went out to crank it one day and it would not crank. He tried a few things and gave up. I put the ECM in it, was not getting fuel. I replaced fuel pump and filter and flushed the tank, then walla it runs. Is the pump gone in the tranny? ECT? Any suggestions to try before I pull it and find a used one. Oh and how about an A340F? What will it take to bolt it up to a V6?

if you flush and flushed it and it is not going into gear then its the tranny prolly clutches badd. i had the same with my auto a340h. so i replaced with 5 speed.. but no the ect is only a towing package electronic control transmission.. it is located under your console above the shifters... it is a small computer modual.. i still have mine from the swap..
but you may have not gotten all the water out the torque converter. it may be bad and will not let the truck go in gear..
and i dont think the a340f will bolt up

If you do find out a cheap way to fix it, i would highly reccomend that you do not invest anymore money into it and swap in a 5 speed.

I had sooo many gremlins with mine and was finally tired of dealing with it.

I spent around $700 and successfuly completed my swap with a huge grin on my face. that transmission made my truck soo much more fun to drive
